This humble Birmingham-based band caught our attention, even from inside the belly of a whale. They met in a church choir, and now they’re onto gracing the Letterman stage and adding to the ever-popular Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack. Simple enough for the folk fiends, yet modern enough to catch the indie crowd, Wild Sweet Orange created We Have Cause To Be Uneasy with the intent to “be honest about who they are and where they’ve come from.” Singer Preston Lovinggood, previously influenced by artists such as The Cure and Elliott Smith, transcends a certain southern appeal with his charming vocals, and strategically placed screaming. Because of their appreciation for literature, this album is chock-full of extremely poetic lyrics.
