The Lumineers released their self-titled debut album on April 3, 2012. The 11-track album features melodic and folky tracks that are consistently lyrically upbeat and sort of serenading. Its been only days since the album was released, and the promotional tour has already sold out several shows across the U.S, so the 3 piece band clearly put out an appealing first album. The band spent several years both writing and recording the debut album, clearly paying off in the acceptance of fans and the popularity of the new release. From the love song “Ho Hey”, to the campfire chants of Big Parade”, the Lumineers kept the heartfelt theme consistent throughout. The Denver band basically put together a montage of sing-a-longs for fans of folk music from a few hopeless romantics. The tracks are catchy, well written, painfully folky, and would be perfect served with a pitcher of beer in an old Irish Pub.
