The KTSW News Department is the source for campus and community news. Our newscast airs Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Our reporters are sent out to cover beats and assist in producing our 30-minute specialty news show, In The Public Interest.
Other Side Drive
Other Side Drive is KTSW’s drive-time, variety show airing Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Other Side Drive pulls all KTSW departments together through newscasts, sports updates, interviews, and more. This is also our request block, hosted by our best DJ talent with interesting segments and live in-studio sessions. Previous on-air DJ experience is preferred.
KTSW’s Promotions Department is the face of KTSW. Our promotions team members represent us at on and off-campus events, including: Third Thursday, Lunchbox Concert Series, Underground Excellence and more!
KTSW’s Sales Department is responsible for selling spots to air on our non-commercial radio station. Like professional account executives, ours represent us by setting up meetings with businesses as potential and current sponsors.
Social Media Department
KTSW’s Social Media Department oversees all of our social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Our social media content contributors suggest, create and assist in scheduling media postings to promote what is going on at KTSW, at Texas State, and in the community. They're the online face of KTSW!
KTSW’s Sports Department covers a wide variety of sports from San Marcos High School football to Texas State volleyball, basketball and more. Many sports staff members get their start as Sports Update Writers, then move on to anchor, provide play-by-play and color commentary during games, and host our one-hour talk show: Bobcat Radio. Staff members also learn technical skills by board producing and running remote broadcasts.
Web Content Department
KTSW’s Web Content Department is responsible for the station’s online-presence on our blog. KTSW Web Editors and Contributors suggest, create and format blog posts and assist in maintaining relevant pages for their respective departments.
