KTSW Sports Department
We here at the KTSW Sports Department strive to provide
a professional broadcast for each game that is aired on 89.9 KTSW. The
announcers and board operator all work very hard in preparing for each
game in order to make the broadcast as pleasurable as possible for its
listeners.
The sports at Texas State University-San Marcos are very exciting, and
as the exclusive radio station of those sports, we aim to exemplify
that excitement for all those dedicated Bobcat fans who tune in. The
Sports Department at KTSW is vastly becoming one of the nation's best
as well. Former KTSW Sports Director, Brant Freeman, won the 2003 CBI national
Play-by-Play award for student broadcasters, and also took 1st place
in Play-by-play in the 2003 Southwest Journalism Conference. Both were
won for his work in Eugene, Oregon, where he called the Texas State
Women's Basketball NCAA tournament game against Louisiana State University.Fellow
KTSW Announcer Jim Bob Breazale placed 2nd in the SWJC for his work
with KTSW Announcer Lindsey Roberts for their calling of the Texas State
Women's Basketball game against McNeese St.
KTSW will be airing both men's and women's basketball games, baseball,
and softball games on 89.9 KTSW-FM through out the year. KTSW will also air
Texas State Football this year as well!
