Indie pop band, Los Campesinos! epitomize a more intense version of The New Pornographers, matching clever lyrics with pure indie ecstasy.

We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed was the band's second album to be released in 2008 (the first was Hold On Now, Youngster), and was originally intended to be a collection of B-sides. We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed is compiled of songs that any broken or bitter heart can relate to. From the feeling of loss in "Heart Swells/Pacific Daylight Time," to trying to get over a relationship in "You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing," to the harsh insults in "The End Of The Asterisk," their lyrics are easy to relate to. We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed speaks of frustration, and displays more depth of emotion than Hold On Now, Youngster.
